Man comments on how Greeks were facing immigrants in Canada and talks about the contact he has with Greece.
Ε.Ζ.: Look, in the beginning they started saying back in those years, not to me of course, “Oh, there come the dishwashers”. I ask the question to someone and I say, “If your brother or you came to Canada, would you go work at an office” I’m asking you, “Eh” says he “Tell me, are you going to work at an office, you didn’t speak English, you didn’t speak French, you didn’t speak your Greek”, because in the village where he was, what would he speak? And you see there being now and you say […] “Nowadays, dear friend” I say to him “The dishwashers are those who govern Canada”.
RES.: Good and did it cross your mind to return to Greece to stay?
Ε.Ζ.: No, because family is here, business is here. I like going for two-four months, during Christmas I might go again this year, I like going to Greece, to find acquaintances, I find the friends, but I don’t get involved in these politics, I don’t pay attention to various things, “Good morning”, “Hello”, “How are you?” and so on… just everyday life.
