A man reports that he was learning from his relatives that wondrous things
were occurring in Canada.
V.E.: I had two kids, a wife and I was hearing that in
Montreal miracles were occurring, with the languages I knew and so on, and
like it happened.
RES.: Were you hearing from your wife’s sisters?
V.Ε.: From her sisters yes and some others anyway
RES.: So tell me then what did you know about Canada,
what were you learning, what were these miracles taking place?
V.Ε.: The miracles were… everybody, everybody was
employed. They had all managed, how to say? They had come penniless. And
within a year they had managed to buy a car! For us, it was a big deal. For
the Canadians it was child’s play, but I didn’t know that but the people
bought a car. Some, within a couple of years had managed to place a deposit
and they bought a small house. They were both working, wife and husband and
the income was such from the numbers they were giving me that it was
considerable, meaning you could get back on your feet anyway. What can I tell
you?
