DΜ.: Not a few months had gone by and two Greeks, two young persons were looking for a store to open a restaurant. And they came and asked us what is our opinion and we told them the rents were low and the prospects were favourable. And so, they decided and opened a small restaurant opposite to us. They named it ‘Meraklis’. The joint was very simple and very loosely prepared. Be that as it may, one of the owners, from Pyrgos in Elia, had worked in Athens in some bakery and he knew how to unroll pastry sheet for mpougatsa and for cheese pie. And he starts making these two things along with a few pork skewers (souvlakia) and a very poor, very small I’d say Greek menu. Summer came, it was May and until September waves from Mont-Royal were coming towards here to taste this type of food which wasn’t available in any other joint.
