Greek Fete in Montreal The Greek community of Montreal yesterday celebrated the
132nd anniversary of the independence of Greece. The day began with a Mass at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity and ended with a banquet at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel. The Ambassador of Greece to Canada, M.R.B. Rossetti, and the Consul General in Montreal, Mr. Jackson Dodds, spoke. Because Canadians, Mr. Rossetti said, understand the historical value of struggles for the formation of an adult nation, Canada and Greece are united by close ties. Counselor Marcel Lafaille represented Mayor Camilien Houde at these celebrations. Among the guests of honor at the banquet were: M.D. Coulourides, Greek Consul in Montreal; Father N. Salamis of the Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity and M.S. Colivas, President of the Greek community of Montreal.
