“And the women suffered”

A woman refers to the lack of help in raising the children, simultaneously commenting on cohabitation with relatives.

Α.Μ.Τ.: Other difficulties alright… We wanted to do… the difficulty was when I had my children and I had no help, I brought over my parents. Afterwards I didn’t experience any difficulty. They changed. It was then that it was difficult and then were sitting many of us together. Because we had this rustic thing. Having my brother-in-law and my cousin and one and the other, while raising the children, this was difficult.
Res.: All of them had come?
Α.Μ.Τ.: All of them inside my house.
Res.: They had come from Greece? Afterwards, after you had come?
Α.Μ.Τ.: From Greece, yes, one by one. Yes, one by one and we were sitting at home and this was happening almost with all the Greeks, I could say. And the women struggled. The men didn’t struggle. The woman struggled with this and you didn’t want to speak because you’d say “What should I do now? What should I say?”. This lasted for a decade, to whomever I talk in my age, they all experienced this.
