A man remembers how the women who were coming over to work as maids in Canada
were travelling in the worst seats in the ship.
Ε.Ζ.: This voyage was… it was very, not pleasant, but
something that was sad was that along with us then, many girls were coming,
who were coming as maids and they had put them under the… the hold whatever
its name is and since I had become acquainted, I was going and seeing the
girls. And as if they were, what can I tell you… animals down that time in the
hold. Well, we had our cabins above, because I had paid, but I want to tell
you those were below, in some pipes.
