fact which led her to the arranged marriage with her husband who had already
emigrated to Canada.
ΑΝ.: I grew up there, I attended primary school there
and in Chios in… inside the… in the city I finished junior high.
Res.: Ah, you finished junior high?
ΑΝ.: Yes. I finished junior high, but… those years eh…
my… my parents for I had to continue, go somewhere, go to a university, like…
there was available at the time to become an educator or whatever, they
wouldn’t let me leave the village, stay alone in Athens or in- in another
island which was available. Because in- in our own… island there was nothing
to do after junior high.
