Greek has changed in Greece

The informant points out that Greek has changed in Greece but not in Canada. He attributes the 'impoverishment' of the language to the educational system in Greece.
RES.: But do you think your Greek has changed at all?
P.TZ.: No, my Greek has not changed but Greek has changed in Greece. This is what I observe because I see the children that finish high school in Greece and their English is poorer ... and their Greek is poorer than my Greek. Unfortunately. But this is a fact, without ... me wanting to criticize anything. I do not know what to say. The way secondary education has been reorganized now, with the lyceum and the first three grades being the normal high school, better results should have been expected. I do not know what they aim at. Of course, back in our times, we learnt Greek in the three last grades of gymnasio, corresponding to the current lyceum. Maybe, we did more back then.
