Where did the Greeks have fun in Regina, in Ottawa, in Montreal? How did
they spend their free time? Who did they hang out with? Bachelor nights
in billiards. Screenings of Greek movies in Rialto Theatre. Meetings in houses.
Picnics in parks. Hockey and soccer. Greek radio shows. These stories – stories
of encounters but also of conflicts - in fact convey the nostalgic contact with Greece,
the economic and business dimension of the Greek community, but also gender issues.
At the same time, it appears as if they are mapping the reconfiguration of
Canada’s cities through and because of the immigrants’ presence, while also
revealing an aspect of immigration reality which usually remains in obscurity.
